After trying this several times, I decided to start without updating instead.
Ive bought Fear 2 for pc (49 euros) in the worten store, when i got to try installing this game, it came up this stupid support of steam, first i dont have net, i only used net once to install bioschock, i installed fear 2 with steam , it took me 2 hours, once installed the game in order to launch it need more 1 hour and something to load additional files..the hell is this!!!
once you ready to play you need to be connected to net, now this is something i dont want, first i dont like to have net in my pc in order to avoid virus, second i dont want to pay more money in the net while im playing this game, f..k Steam they are nothing but explores, ive spent alot of money in this game and i will not spend another single coin for it!!!
if i dont find a way to play this game without steam, then ill download the pirate version : F.
" i dont like to have copies of games, but if this is the only way i can play some games SO BE IT!!!
I like the digital delivery system so I will just buy it through steam.
You do realize that as long as you set the game to not be 'always updated' under the properties on steam - You can play it in offline steam mode.
Steam is just a delivery mechanism it isn't required for any 3rd party game (read non-steam specific) that I am aware of If its like some games, you do have to validate the serial number with the FEAR 2 company. Sounds to me that you should be looking at just buying it in the store.
If you don't want to use steam just buy it in a store or a different download place. Far Cry 2 did this on Steam and it wasn't a problem for me.
Anyways, the game requires steam regardless of where one purchases it at.
